On Friday 18th of May an entire session on the Road Safety on Five Continents Conference (RS5C) in South Korea was dedicated to the ESRA project. Uta Meesmann, Vias institute (Belgium) organized this session and presented an overview on the project approach, methodology and most recent results. Ward Vanlaar, Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF, Canada) made a comparison of self-declared mobile use while driving in Canada, The United States and Europe. Sangjin Han, The Korea Transport Institute (KOTI, Republic of Korea) presented the results of road users safety performance and attitudes in Korea. Gerald Furian Kuratorium für Verkehrssicherheit (KFV, Austria) focused in his presentation on the link between subjective safety (ESRA) and objective safety based on crash statistics.
